These terms apply to the NetSamurai app for iPhone and iPad, made by Stefan Dasic ("I", "we"). They add to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, which also governs your use of the app. By using NetSamurai you agree to both.
1. What NetSamurai is
NetSamurai is a network scanner and security-checking tool. It discovers devices on the local network you're connected to, reads what their services answer, and reports weaknesses it has checks for, with explanations and suggested fixes.
2. Scan only networks you're allowed to
You may use NetSamurai only on networks you own or have permission to assess. Scanning other people's networks or devices without permission may break the law or the network's terms. You are responsible for having that permission. NetSamurai asks you to confirm it before the first scan.
3. Acceptable use
Don't use NetSamurai to disrupt networks or devices, to gain access you aren't authorized to have, or to harass or monitor other people. Don't reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the app except as the law allows.
4. NetSamurai Pro
Pro is an optional one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase sold by Apple at the price shown in the App Store. It unlocks the Pro features listed in the app for as long as the app is available, on devices signed in with the same Apple Account (use Restore Purchases). There is no subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple.
5. Results are information, not a guarantee
NetSamurai reports what it observed within the checks it performs. Devices can be missed, checks can be incomplete, and a version or model match means potentially affected, not confirmed. "No issues found" means none within the checks performed, not that a network or device is secure. NetSamurai does not detect malware, intrusions or attackers. Decisions you make based on its results are yours; follow the device maker's guidance when changing settings or firmware.
6. Your data
Your saved data stays on your device, as described in the privacy policy. You're responsible for backing it up and for the reports you choose to share.
7. Third-party data and services
Vulnerability information comes partly from public sources, including CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog and FIRST's EPSS. Those sources and other services the app contacts are provided by their owners under their own terms. We aren't responsible for their availability or accuracy.
8. Intellectual property
NetSamurai, its name, icon, design and code belong to Stefan Dasic and are protected by copyright and other laws. Product names mentioned in the app and on this site belong to their owners and are used only to identify those products.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NetSamurai is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose and that it will find every device or vulnerability.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of NetSamurai, including security incidents, data loss or device problems. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for NetSamurai Pro, if any.
11. Changes and availability
We may update these terms or the app. If the terms change materially, the effective date above will change. Continuing to use NetSamurai after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence gives you additional rights.
